As a result of the earthquake that shook Haiti on January 12, 2010, CIDA is reviewing its country strategy for Haiti. Information regarding this country strategy will be updated on our website as soon as possible.

CIDA's current program for Haiti remains for the greater part relevant to the needs arising from the earthquake, including those in areas taking in displaced persons. CIDA has reviewed its projects to see how it can more directly respond to the rapid recovery and reconstruction effort.

CIDA will establish its reconstruction programming based on Haiti's priorities and on the action plan submitted by the Government of Haiti at the international donors' conference held at the United Nations in New York on March 31, 2010.
